What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. They let a site remember information about your visit, language preference, whether a form has been partly completed, whether you have logged in, and they are widely used to measure how a site is used so it can be improved.

What this site uses

This site loads Google Tag Manager, which acts as a single container for the analytics or marketing tools we choose to run. Through Tag Manager we may load tools such as Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, and similar measurement tools in future. The exact list can change as we refine our measurement, so rather than name individual cookies, which themselves can change without notice, we group them into the categories below.

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function, page navigation, form submission, security. Always on; cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics. Help us understand which pages are visited, how people arrive at the site, and which content drives enquiries. Off by default until you accept.
  • Advertising. Allow us to measure the effectiveness of any paid campaigns and to personalise marketing. Off by default until you accept.

This list may change as we add or remove analytics tools, please check back periodically.

Changing your preferences

On your first visit you will be shown a banner with three choices: Accept all, Reject all, or Preferences. Your choice is stored on your device for 12 months, after which the banner appears again. You can change your mind at any time using the button below or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

You can also block cookies entirely through your browser settings, see the ICO guidance on cookies for instructions per browser.
