Knauf Ceiling Solutions is the ceiling systems brand of Knauf AG, the German building materials manufacturer. Knauf Ceiling Solutions operates in the UK as a distinct manufacturer supplying mineral fibre lay-in tile, hygienic ceiling systems, acoustic ceiling and wall panels, and perforated metal ceiling products. The brand is separate from Zentia, which is the former Armstrong UK ceiling business rebranded following its independent sale. Knauf Ceiling Solutions, brand context
Knauf Ceiling Solutions is the ceiling systems brand of Knauf AG, the German privately owned building materials manufacturer. The brand supplies mineral fibre lay-in tile, hygienic ceiling systems, acoustic panels, and perforated metal ceiling products to the UK commercial, healthcare, education and retail sectors.
Important: Knauf Ceiling Solutions is not the same business as Zentia. Both brands trace back to Knauf's 2019 acquisition of Armstrong World Industries' EMEA and Pacific Rim ceilings business. As a condition of European Commission merger approval, Knauf divested the UK mineral-fibre tile and grid business to Aurelius Equity Opportunities, which rebranded it as Zentia in November 2020, covering the Ultima, Sierra and Dune tile ranges, Bioguard hygienic treatment and Prelude grid system. The remainder of the former Armstrong international business was merged with Knauf's AMF brand to form Knauf Ceiling Solutions. They are now distinct UK suppliers with no shared ownership. Knauf Vidicare is the healthcare hygienic ceiling tile: sealed wipeable face with bacteriostatic treatment, Class A2 fire, 600 x 600 mm and 1200 x 600 mm formats. The Knauf Ceiling Solutions entry point for clinical, dental and healthcare environments where the ceiling specification requires a wipeable sealed face. Vidicare addresses the same specification requirement as Zentia Bioguard, Rockfon MediCare and Ecophon Hygiene range products.
Knauf Sonify is the acoustic mineral fibre tile range, with Class A absorption in a lay-in format, specified in open-plan offices, education teaching and seminar rooms, and commercial environments where acoustic absorption is the driver. The Knauf Ceiling Solutions entry point for acoustic-led commercial specification.
Knauf Lyra is the standard volume mineral fibre lay-in tile, with balanced acoustic and light reflectance performance across commercial offices, retail and education environments, available in standard formats and edge details. The workhorse of the Knauf Ceiling Solutions tile portfolio in the same specification space as Zentia Dune and Rockfon Color-all.
Knauf DesignFlex is the perforated metal ceiling panel system, a metal-language ceiling face delivering acoustic performance through perforation and mineral wool or PET fleece backing. Available in tile and plank configurations. Specified where the brief calls for a metal-language ceiling with acoustic performance, in the same specification space as SAS System 130 / 150 and Hunter Douglas metal systems.

Knauf Ceiling Solutions sits across the same specification landscape as the other principal mineral fibre ceiling manufacturers. In healthcare, Vidicare is specified for clinical, dental and ophthalmic environments where a hygienic wipeable ceiling tile is required. In commercial offices, Lyra and Sonify address standard and acoustic-led floorplate specifications. In education, Sonify competes with Ecophon Focus and Rockfon Color-all for acoustic-led classroom and teaching space specification. DesignFlex is specified in environments where the architect calls for a metal-language ceiling with acoustic capability.
