Ceilings Subcontractor for Main Contractors
Eastledge Interiors is a commercial interiors subcontractor based in Alvaston, Derby, established in 1986. Main contractors and developers use the business for ceilings, dry lining, partitions, acoustics and fit-out packages across Derby, Nottingham and the East Midlands. The work is commercial only.

Packages a main contractor can let as one trade
The useful package is the interior scope that sits together on a programme: the ceiling, the partitions, the linings and the acoustic treatment, supervised by one team. Eastledge employs its own fixers, dry liners and supervisors.
Suspended ceilings cover exposed grid and tile, MF plasterboard ceilings, metal, timber and acoustic systems. Grid, lighting, sprinklers and ductwork are sequenced so the ceiling drops into a coordinated services layout. Manufacturer systems already installed on published projects include SAS International metal, Rockfon stone wool, Knauf Ceiling Solutions mineral fibre, Ecophon, Hunter Douglas and, on completed historic specifications, Zentia.
Dry lining covers metal stud partitions, fire-rated and acoustic walls, shaft walls, MF ceilings and linings. Taping and jointing is available inside the same dry lining package, including Level 4 and Level 5 finishes where the specification calls for them.
Office partitions take in metal stud, glazed, fire-rated, acoustic and demountable systems. Shaft walls are the asymmetric assemblies for lift shafts, risers and stair enclosures, installed from one side where the system document allows it.
Acoustic panels and rafts and baffles are supplied and installed for classrooms, sports halls, offices and production spaces. In schools, Building Bulletin 93 is the guidance the designer works from. Installing a panel does not by itself meet a BB93 criterion.
Where the brief is the whole interior, commercial fit-out brings ceilings, partitions, dry lining and finishes under one accountable contract for Cat A landlord handover or Cat B occupier work. Shop fit-out, hygienic cladding and ceramic tiling are added when the specification includes them.
How Eastledge works with a main contractor
The offer is one accountable package. Ceilings, partitions and dry lining are programmed into the fit-out sequence. The ceiling is sequenced around M&E first fix, lighting, sprinklers and ductwork tests. Partition setting out is agreed before boarding starts. On a combined package there is one supervisor and one weekly conversation.
Pre-construction is practical. Eastledge supplies its own RAMS, attends pre-construction and progress meetings, and provides weekly programme returns to the contractor's project manager. Surveys, mobilisation and snagging are planned from the Derby yard. Travel is priced in the package. It is not added as an extra after the work has started.
Where the architect or consultant has specified the system, Eastledge installs that system. The package is not a redesign. On a priced tender the estimating team can apply value engineering to improve programme efficiency and put that option to the client and the main contractor. It is an alternative to price, not a silent substitution.
On larger schemes Eastledge is the subcontractor and the main contractor holds the principal contractor role. On smaller refurbishment and tenant works, Eastledge can act as principal contractor under CDM 2015 for the interior trade scope and coordinate third-party trades. Mechanical and electrical services remain with a specialist in either case.
Sectors the packages are already used in
The same trades are already published across education, offices, healthcare, retail (including the CO-OP programme and named national work for Superdrug), industrial, leisure, automotive (including the Kia dealership in Burton-on-Trent) and science and research. Cultural buildings appear where the specification needs feature timber, acoustic rafts or controlled working in an occupied venue.

Accreditations and named main contractors
Procurement checks can start from the accreditations page. Eastledge holds CHAS Advanced, Constructionline Gold, SSIP through Once For All, and Social Value certification. Installer records published on that page include AMF (since 2010) and Ecophon (since 2009). Rockfon is described there as a regular installation record, not a formal approved-installer status. Insurance schedules are available on request. The sums are not stated on the website.
Named main contractors already appear in the published copy. Repeat relationships on the fit-out, ceilings and dry lining pages include GF Tomlinson and Kingfisher Construction. Education copy also names GF Tomlinson on Barnsley College and University of Nottingham work. The project list above records GF Tomlinson on Burleyfield School, Clegg Construction on Woodlands SEN School, Sail Construction on FCC Environment, and Kingfisher Construction on The Gym Group at Hendon. Only contractors named in the published pages are listed here.
