Hadley Group Installations
UK cold-rolled steel framing systems for drywall and partition assemblies
Hadley Group is a UK manufacturer of cold-rolled steel products, producing C-studs, U-track, ceiling sections and specialist framing profiles used in commercial dry lining, partition and ceiling assemblies. We install Hadley framing sections alongside British Gypsum, Knauf and Siniat boards, specifying the framing source to match the tested assembly for the project's fire and acoustic requirements.
Hadley Group framing is an independent cold-rolled steel option for commercial partition and dry lining assemblies. Unlike framing supplied directly by the board manufacturers (British Gypsum GypFrame, Knauf framing, Siniat framing), Hadley is not tied to a single board brand, which gives specification flexibility on projects where the framing source and board source are treated independently.
Who is Hadley Group?
Hadley Group is a UK manufacturer of cold-rolled steel products, headquartered in Halesowen in the West Midlands. The group produces a range of roll-formed steel sections serving the construction, manufacturing and distribution sectors. In the construction market, Hadley is primarily known for its drywall framing products: the C-stud, U-track, ceiling section and specialist profiles used in commercial partition and dry lining assemblies across the UK.
Hadley framing is supplied through the principal building products merchant networks rather than exclusively through a single distributor, which means it is available through CCF, SIG and other merchants as part of a standard dry lining supply chain. It is not tied to a specific board manufacturer's product range, and it can be paired with British Gypsum, Knauf or Siniat boards within a tested assembly specification.
Board system compatibility
The key question on any fire-rated or acoustic partition assembly is whether the framing specification matches the tested system. The board manufacturers' system documents (British Gypsum White Book, Knauf System Selector, Siniat Drylining Manual) define the complete assembly: stud type, gauge, centres, board specification, board layers, fixing type, infill specification and perimeter detailing. Where the tested assembly specifies the board manufacturer's own framing, substituting Hadley framing requires confirmation that the Hadley section matches the dimensional and structural specification of the reference framing within the tested system.
On standard non-rated assemblies, independent framing is generally straightforward to specify. On fire-rated and acoustic assemblies, we confirm the Hadley section against the tested system document at pre-construction. We include the framing specification in the O&M record at handover, cross-referenced to the tested assembly used.
Why specify Hadley framing
The principal reason to specify Hadley framing on a commercial project is supply chain independence. On projects where the board specification is confirmed (for example, British Gypsum specified by the architect) but framing sourcing is left to the contractor, Hadley provides an independent UK-manufactured framing option available through multiple merchant routes. On volume commercial programmes, framing cost and availability can be managed independently of the board supply where an independent manufacturer is used.
UK manufacture with the West Midlands base provides predictable lead times on standard section sizes for projects running from the Midlands supply chain.
Where Hadley framing is specified
Hadley framing is used across the standard commercial dry lining and partition sectors: offices (standard and high-performance acoustic partition programmes), education (classrooms, circulation walls, fire-rated compartment assemblies), healthcare (clinical partition programmes under permit-to-work), retail (fast-track rollout framing within tested assembly specifications) and industrial (office and welfare partition builds within factory and warehouse environments).

What we install
Hadley C-Studs and U-Track
Cold-rolled galvanised steel C-stud and U-track sections in standard widths (50 mm, 70 mm, 92 mm, 100 mm) and standard gauges for commercial partition assemblies. Supplied in standard lengths for on-site cutting. The framing components for single and double-skin metal stud partition assemblies in dry lining programmes.
- Single-skin commercial office partitions
- Double-skin acoustic and fire-rated assemblies
- Perimeter wall dry lining frames
- Healthcare and education partition builds
Hadley Ceiling Sections
Cold-rolled steel ceiling sections and primary channels for MF plasterboard ceiling assemblies. Used in conjunction with plasterboard to form concealed-grid plasterboard ceiling systems and bulkhead framing.
- MF plasterboard ceiling assemblies
- Concealed-grid plasterboard systems
- Bulkhead and feature ceiling framing
- Ceiling void framing at head-of-wall conditions
Hadley Deflection Heads
Specialist slotted head-of-wall sections designed to allow the partition head to accommodate structural floor deflection without cracking the plasterboard or breaching the compartment seal in fire-rated assemblies. Specified where live-load deflection at the soffit is a design consideration.
- Fire-rated partitions in composite deck buildings
- Acoustic partitions where deflection head is required
- High-rise commercial fit-out
- Refurbishment where existing structure carries live load
