Speedline is SIG's (Sheffield Insulation Group) own-brand cold-rolled steel metal framing range, distributed through the SIG branch network in the UK. We install Speedline framing sections in commercial partition, dry lining and ceiling assemblies where the project supply chain calls for it, working within the tested assembly documentation for the specified board system.

Who makes Speedline?
Speedline is the own-brand metal framing range of SIG (Sheffield Insulation Group), a building products distributor supplying drywall and related products through a branch network in the UK. Speedline framing covers the standard C-stud, U-track and ceiling framing sections used in commercial dry lining and partition assemblies, distributed through the SIG network.
Speedline in commercial assemblies
Speedline framing sections are compatible with standard commercial partition and dry lining assemblies. The standard product range covers C-stud and U-track sections in the partition widths used in most commercial fit-out programmes, and ceiling framing sections for MF plasterboard ceiling systems.
As with all framing options, the critical question on fire-rated and acoustic assemblies is whether the Speedline section matches the tested system specification. We confirm the framing specification against the relevant system document (British Gypsum White Book, Knauf System Selector, Siniat Drylining Manual) at pre-construction on every rated assembly.
Board system compatibility
Speedline framing is used alongside boards from the major manufacturers. On non-rated assemblies, the combination is straightforward. On fire-rated and acoustic assemblies, the framing specification within the tested system document must be confirmed and the Speedline section must match the dimensional and structural requirements of the reference framing in the tested assembly.

Where Speedline framing is specified
Speedline framing is available for the standard commercial dry lining and partition sectors: offices, education, retail and industrial fit-out. Its principal application is in volume commercial partition work where supply chain cost and SIG branch availability are relevant to the project supply chain.
