Zentia (formerly Armstrong UK) at a glance

Zentia is the UK ceiling tile and grid manufacturer formerly trading as Armstrong Ceilings UK. The Armstrong UK business was rebranded to Zentia in 2020 following its sale by Armstrong World Industries to Aurelius. The Ultima, Sierra and Dune product ranges, the Bioguard hygienic treatment and the Prelude grid family (all originally Armstrong UK products) continue to be specified, manufactured and supplied under the Zentia brand. Older project specifications and product documentation referring to "Armstrong Ultima", "Armstrong Sierra" or "Armstrong Dune" map directly across to current Zentia product naming.

UK manufacturing remains at the Gateshead plant in the North East of England, the historic Armstrong UK manufacturing facility, which gives the ranges short and reliable lead times relative to imported product. Zentia (with Rockfon and Knauf Ceiling Solutions, the latter of which acquired the wider Armstrong ceilings business outside the UK) sits as one of the three principal mineral fibre ceiling tile manufacturers across UK commercial fit-out.

Product ranges

The Zentia range sits at three specification points covered by the Ultima, Sierra and Dune families, with the Bioguard hygienic treatment available across all three and the Prelude grid system as the standard carrier.

Ultima is the premium acoustic range: smooth dense face, highest acoustic and light reflectance performance, specified in higher-specification commercial offices, higher education and corporate fit-out. Ultima OP is the workhorse Ultima variant for office environments; Ultima dB is the high-acoustic-performance variant; Ultima Vector is the concealed-grid format; Ultima Bioguard combines the Ultima specification with the hygienic treatment.

Sierra is the mid-specification range: textured face, balanced acoustic and light reflectance performance, specified across the volume of commercial offices, education, retail and back-of-house environments. Sierra is available with the Bioguard hygienic treatment for healthcare, education catering and food-service environments.

Dune is the workhorse: finely textured face, the default specification across the volume of commercial offices, retail, corridor and back-of-house environments. Dune is available across the standard Class A1 / A2 specification with Dune evolution, Dune Max, Dune Supreme and Dune Tegular variants for different grid presentation requirements.

Bioguard is the Zentia hygienic surface treatment available across the Ultima, Sierra and Dune ranges. The treated face supports cleaning regimes used in healthcare, education catering, food-service and other environments where a wipeable mineral fibre tile is required alongside the standard performance.

Prelude grid systems are the standard Zentia exposed-grid family: Prelude 24 mm, Prelude 15 mm and Prelude Sixty, supplied alongside the tile ranges as the carrier system. The choice between 24 mm and 15 mm is aesthetic; 15 mm is preferred in higher-specification interiors where a narrower visible carrier is wanted.

We have a documented installation record across the Zentia (and historic Armstrong UK) tile ranges. Recent and historic project work includes:

• Ultima OP at the Glenair Mansfield industrial fit-out: premium acoustic mineral fibre tile across the office and meeting space inside the wider industrial envelope.
• Sierra with Bioguard treatment at the Nottingham Trent University Clifton Campus refurbishment: mid-specification mineral fibre with the hygienic treatment specified across catering and student-facing space.
• Dune at the Charnock Hall School in Sheffield: workhorse mineral fibre tile across the education refurbishment programme.
• Dune across the Kia dealership at Burton-on-Trent: workhorse tile across the showroom, customer and back-of-house environments of the automotive retail fit-out.

We install to the manufacturer's current technical guidance and the published system documentation on every project.

Accreditation status

We do not hold or claim "approved installer" status with Zentia. We deliberately do not use that term in our marketing because it has a defined meaning in the manufacturer-installer relationship and we prefer to describe what we actually have rather than what the term implies. What we have is a long-standing position as a regular installer of the Zentia (and historic Armstrong UK) ranges, a documented project record across Ultima, Sierra, Dune and Bioguard, and a working relationship with the Zentia commercial team for project specification support. Where a project calls for Zentia product, we install to the manufacturer's published system documentation with the certified components.
