The brief
A working astronomical observatory used by local astronomy groups and the wider public for events, outreach and education. The brief was for interior fit-out work that improved the building's environment for these uses, with the ceiling work contributing to both the acoustic quality and the finished appearance of the space.
Working in a community venue requires sensitivity to the building's character and to the way the space is used. The specification was straightforward; the requirement was accurate installation with a quality finish.
What we did
Feature ceiling installation to the main interior space, with the work completed to a clean and accurate finish. The installation was coordinated with the other building works on site so that Eastledge's scope was complete and protected before the space was handed back for use.
Outcome
Interior fit-out completed to programme, with a ceiling finish that improves the quality of the space for the community groups and visitors that use Sherwood Observatory throughout the year.
