Plasterboard and drywall systems from the Etex Group
Siniat is a UK and European drywall manufacturer and part of the Etex Group, the Belgian building materials company. Siniat board and framing systems sit alongside British Gypsum and Knauf as the third principal board specification in UK commercial drywall, and we install Siniat systems where the project specification calls for them, working to the Siniat Drylining Manual on fire-rated and acoustic assemblies.
Siniat is one of the established plasterboard manufacturers in the UK commercial drywall market, offering a board and framing range that covers the same performance requirements as the British Gypsum and Knauf product families. Where the project specification calls for Siniat products, we install to the Siniat Drylining Manual system documentation.
Who is Siniat?
Siniat is part of the Etex Group, a Belgian building materials company founded in 1905. Etex operates across building boards, roofing, facades and passive fire protection, with manufacturing facilities and market presence across Europe, Latin America and Asia. Siniat is Etex's drywall brand, operating primarily in the UK, France, Belgium, Poland and other western European markets.
In the UK, Siniat operates a manufacturing facility producing gypsum plasterboard for the commercial construction market. The Siniat Drylining Manual is maintained and updated by the UK technical team and serves as the reference specification document for fire-rated, acoustic and standard partition assemblies using Siniat products.
The Siniat Drylining Manual
The Siniat Drylining Manual is the system specification document covering tested partition, wall and ceiling assemblies using Siniat board and framing products. Tested assemblies are documented with EI fire rating and Rw acoustic performance data, the full component specification (stud, board, infill, fixings, perimeter detailing) required to achieve the rating, and installation guidance.
We work from the Siniat Drylining Manual on every fire-rated and acoustic assembly specifying Siniat products, confirming the current tested specification at pre-construction and including the system reference in the O&M documentation at handover.
Metal framing systems
Siniat supplies metal framing sections alongside its board range, including C-stud sections in standard partition widths, U-track head and base runner, and ceiling sections. Tested assemblies in the Siniat Drylining Manual are documented for Siniat framing with Siniat boards as the reference specification.
We install Siniat framing where the project specification and tested assembly call for it, and equally install independent framing from manufacturers including Hadley Group, Tradeline and Speedline where the project benefits from supply chain flexibility. As with all fire-rated and acoustic assemblies, the framing source is confirmed against the tested system specification at pre-construction.
