Commercial ceramic and porcelain tiling

Ceramic and porcelain tiling is part of our commercial fit-out capability, delivered alongside our partition, dry lining and hygienic cladding trades under one contract. We install wall and floor tiling in commercial washrooms, changing rooms, commercial kitchens, wet rooms, entrance lobbies and feature wall areas, coordinating with the wet trades and the rest of the interior programme from a single site team.

The installation is to BS 5385 throughout: substrate preparation, adhesive selection and coverage, grouting, movement joint provision and the tolerances that distinguish a finished commercial installation from an adequate one. Where the project calls for waterproofing beneath the tile in shower areas or wet rooms, we install the tanking layer first and hand it back as a sealed system before tiling commences.

How ceramic tiling fits within our package scope

Most ceramic tiling in commercial fit-out sits within a broader interior package. Washrooms require stud partition walls, door frames, ceiling systems and floor screed alongside the tiling; commercial kitchens involve dry lining to the perimeter walls, hygienic cladding in the high-washdown zones and tiling in adjacent preparation and welfare areas; changing facilities need ceiling systems, partition layouts and wet area waterproofing as preconditions of the tiling installation itself.

When Eastledge is delivering the broader package, the sequencing is managed under one programme rather than across multiple sub-contract interfaces. The substrate arrives at the correct standard because we built it; the programme allows tiling to follow dry lining without a third-party coordination stage; the same supervision team oversees both trades. That is the case for including ceramic tiling within our scope rather than splitting it to a tiling-only specialist.

Where we install commercial tiling

Commercial washrooms and changing rooms: ceramic and porcelain wall and floor tile in staff and visitor washroom facilities, changing rooms in leisure, education and industrial environments, and hotel and hospitality guest facilities. Slip-rated floor tile to R9 or R10 standard as the project brief requires.

Commercial kitchens and food preparation areas: in catering environments where the hygiene brief does not require seamless hygienic cladding throughout, ceramic tiling provides the wall finish for general preparation and welfare areas. We discuss the hygiene specification at the design stage and recommend where hygienic cladding is the more appropriate system.

Feature walls and entrance lobbies: large-format porcelain feature walls, patterned tile schemes and bespoke tile layouts in reception, entrance lobby, breakout and food and beverage environments.

Wet rooms and spa areas: full wet room tiling in leisure, hotel and healthcare environments, with tanking and drainage detailing forming part of the scope.
