Yes, most of our retail rollout work is delivered for the principal contractors holding rollout framework agreements with national retailers. We work as the specialist trade subcontractor on the framework, mobilising crews to each store in the rollout programme to deliver the trade scope to the brand fit-out standard. We also work direct-to-retailer where the operator procures the trade scope themselves.

Can you deliver out-of-hours and night work for retail refits?

Yes, out-of-hours and night work is the standard delivery model for refit and refresh of occupied trading stores. The retailer cannot afford to lose trading days, so the work is sequenced overnight (typically 2200–0600), between trading sessions (early morning before opening or late evening after closing), and across weekends. Crews mobilise for the night shift, work to the agreed access plan, clean down for trading the following session, and return the next night. The model adds programme weeks but removes lost-trading cost.

How do you deliver brand standards across a rollout?

National retail rollouts run to a brand fit-out standard manual published by the retailer or their lead designer, covering ceiling tile and grid, partition layout, finishes palette, decoration colours, tile and floor specifications, signage interface and joinery detail. The contractor's job is to install the brand standard identically across every store in the rollout, not to reinterpret it per location. We work to the brand standard manual on every rollout site and supervise the trade scope to deliver consistent specification.

Why don't you publish your retail client list?

Retail rollout work runs under non-disclosure agreements with the retailer and their principal contractor: the retailer's brand fit-out standard, store-by-store programme, and contractor selection are all commercially sensitive. We do not publish per-retailer client lists in marketing material as standard practice; references are available on request to qualified prospective clients via the principal contractor relationships and direct retailer enquiries. The work itself is consistent across the high-street, supermarket and convenience-chain sectors.

Standard fast-track new-store fit-out for a single high-street unit typically runs four to ten weeks from contractor commencement to opening day, depending on size, brand specification and landlord shell-and-core condition. A single floorplate convenience-store fit-out can run as short as three to four weeks where the shell is well-prepared and the brand standard is well-developed. Larger department-store and supermarket units run longer. The trade sequence is dry lining first (with M&E first-fix in cavities), suspended ceiling grid, M&E second-fix above ceiling, ceiling tile, partition, flooring, tiling, decoration, brand fixturing handover. Holding the open date is the contractor's primary value to the retailer.

Can you deliver retail rollouts across the UK?

Accepted Answer

Yes, crews mobilise from our Derby HQ for delivery to any location in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Midlands base position is well-suited to national retail rollout delivery and most rollout programmes involve crews working away from base for the duration of the programme, typically three to six months on a multi-store framework with travel and accommodation costs factored into the rollout pricing.

Do you handle landlord-led shell-and-core work as well as tenant fit-out?

Yes, landlord-led retail shell-and-core completion (taking a unit from carcass to lettable standard) is part of our retail capability alongside tenant brand fit-out. Shell-and-core scope typically includes basic ceiling grid, partition layout to the demised boundaries, basic flooring and decoration to a neutral specification, and basic services to floor. Tenant fit-out then takes the shell up to the brand standard. Both stages run on different procurement routes with different decision-makers.

How do you handle store handover and snagging?

Store handover is sequenced through a final snagging walk-through with the retailer or principal contractor (typically the day before brand fixturing arrives), final touch-up of any items raised on the snag list (typically within 24 hours), formal handover documentation and warranty paperwork, and a defects-period review at typically 6 and 12 months post-handover where any latent defects are addressed. The handover process is the same on rollout, refit and standalone work.
