Why Eastledge in Cambridge
Local delivery, national back-office
Cambridge is around two hours from Derby via the A14 from the M1; we travel into the city for the right packages and plan welfare and access in advance for the duration of the work.
Suspended Ceilings in Cambridge, what we deliver
Suspended ceiling installations in Cambridge cover the standard commercial range we deliver across the UK, exposed-grid mineral fibre for offices, classrooms, retail and welfare environments, concealed-grid systems where a tiled appearance with hidden suspension is wanted, MF plasterboard ceilings for monolithic flush finishes, and metal and timber systems where the ceiling is part of the architectural language. Biotech, research, technology, education and small-commercial clients dominate the regional buyer profile and we structure each package around the principal contractor's programme, integrating ceiling sequencing with M&E first-fix and dry-lining work to keep the master schedule clean.
Cambridge and the wider East of England commercial market is dominated by research-driven, technology and biotech buyers, purpose-built laboratory and office buildings around the city's science and innovation parks, alongside steady independent-sector education and small-commercial fit-out work.
When to specify a ceilings contractor in the East of England
We do not currently sit on framework agreements with any of the region's universities or research institutions, but we have the system, fire and acoustic experience required to satisfy the kind of consultant-written specification that's typical here. The East of England commercial market spans biotech, research, technology, education and small-commercial buyers, and the package profile we see most often is a coordinated ceilings and dry-lining scope inside a wider fit-out, refurbishment or new-build programme. Where the brief is consultant-written, an architect or acoustic specialist setting out a documented specification, we install to that exact system; where the brief is contractor-led we work back from the master programme and price against a measured take-off.
How we work in Cambridge
We work Cambridge from our Derby head office, we don't operate a satellite yard in the city, and we frame coverage honestly on that basis. Cambridge is around two hours from Derby via the A14 from the M1; we travel into the city for the right packages and plan welfare and access in advance for the duration of the work. Surveys, mobilisation and snagging visits are planned around our regular travel pattern, and the price you see is the price you pay, we don't charge travel as an extra after the fact.
The suspended ceilings systems we install
Our Cambridge ceiling work draws from the same manufacturer roster we use nationally. Zentia (formerly Armstrong UK) supplies the bulk of our exposed-grid mineral fibre tiles, Sierra OP, Ultima OP, Dune evolution and similar, alongside Rockfon and Ecophon for higher-absorption work. The grid is typically Knauf Ceiling Solutions or Zentia 24 mm or 15 mm T-bar; concealed-grid options use hooked or clip-in tiles where the architect wants a tiled face with the suspension hidden. MF plasterboard ceilings are installed in-house using British Gypsum or Knauf systems with appropriate fire and acoustic upgrades where compartmentation requires it. Metal ceilings come from Hunter Douglas (Architectural Metalwork plank and panel ranges) and SAS International (System 130, 150 and 330 tiles); timber linear and slatted systems are predominantly Hunter Douglas Heartfelt and Linear, plus Décor for solid timber feature ceilings. For Class A acoustic ceilings we install Ecophon Master tiles or Solo rafts and baffles. Installation respects the FIS Site Guide and the manufacturer's documented tolerances throughout.
Recent projects across the East of England
Cambridge's commercial market is dominated by research-driven, technology and biotech buyers, purpose-built laboratory and office buildings around the city's science and innovation parks, alongside steady independent-sector education and small-commercial fit-out work, and we deliver ceilings programmes for buyers across that fabric, see our project portfolio for documented case studies of the ceiling, dry lining and acoustic work we have completed in the wider region. Most of the work we do in the area arrives through main-contractor relationships rather than open tender, and the package profile is typically a coordinated ceiling, dry-lining and acoustic scope inside a wider commercial fit-out or refurbishment programme.
About Eastledge Interiors
Eastledge Interiors is a Derby-based commercial fit-out specialist established in 1986, working across suspended ceilings, dry lining, acoustic panelling and taping and jointing. We mobilise from our Alvaston yard with our own time-served fixers, supervisors and dry-liners, no rotated subcontract chains, and run every package against the principal contractor's master programme with documented manufacturer system installs and FIS Site Guide tolerances throughout. Where the brief is consultant-written we install verbatim; where it is contractor-led we work back from the programme and price against a measured take-off.
Our crews carry CSCS cards across the relevant card colours, our supervisors hold SSSTS or SMSTS as the package warrants, and we operate to the standard CDM 2015 duties as either principal contractor on direct-to-client work or as a sub-contractor inside a wider programme. We are insured for the public, employer's and contract liability covers normal for commercial fit-out at our scale, and we hold supplier accreditations with the major UK manufacturers we install, Zentia, Ecophon, Hunter Douglas, Rockfon, British Gypsum and Knauf, which means our installation method statements are written against the documented system rather than improvised on site. References, insurance certificates, accreditation letters and method statement examples are available on request as part of any pre-qualification or framework submission process.
